Child support calculation for NC regarding extraordinary expenses?

Two years ago I took out a loan to help pay my daughter’s medical expenses, as my ex-wife did not want to help. I did not want to go to court then but now with additional expenses coming, I want to use the legal system and the NC child support calculator to compel her to help. Can the loan repayments currently being made by me be calculated as the current "extraordinary expenses" for this child? Shared custody, equal time spent between parents.

If not that, it is under a rebuttable presumption.

  1. Actually the original extraordinary medical expenses can be. She has no right to piggy back on your loan. So let’s say we are talking about a 50/50 split here and the extraordinary expense was $5000 she owes you $2500 now. If she needs to go take out a loan to cover her half that is her business.

  2. It is a shared expense, and if you can pursue it in court to get her to have to pay half. A judge may find that she will only owe half of what is left, but either way she needs to help out with these expenses.
