Go to a bank first. They don’t charge the excessive fees that a mortgage broker does. Stay away from online mortgages. They are come-ons and many are ripoffs. If you are a first time buyer you may qualify for an FHA loan. Beware, the mortgage business is a sea of sharks looking to bite your wallet
