Where can I go to apply for a $40,000 – $60,000 mortage loan?

I am interested in purchasing a condo in the Detroit metro area and every site online won’t give me any attention because the amount I need is less than $100,000. I don’t need or want $100,000.

The first step is to avoid those who answer every question on here with a copy and paste answer full of misspellings and grammatical errors.

Do you have a relationship with a local bank? That is the first area to start. Also find one or two reputable local mortgage brokers. Have them all prepare a preliminary quote based on your credit, income, and needs. Loans vary greatly and a 30 yr. fixed rate loan is not for everyone. Check out the different products available and determine what works best for you. Then compare the total cost of the loans and choose the one that is best for you.

You can apply online with reputable mortgage companies no matter the amount of the loan. My local bank offers an apply online option as does the local National City Mortgage office here. ( http://www.nationalcitymortgage.com )

Good luck to you.

  1. Go to a bank first. They don’t charge the excessive fees that a mortgage broker does. Stay away from online mortgages. They are come-ons and many are ripoffs. If you are a first time buyer you may qualify for an FHA loan. Beware, the mortgage business is a sea of sharks looking to bite your wallet
