How long did you live in your first home?

My family is finally ready to purchase our first house. I’ve done some calculations with mortgage points and it seems that we would have to own the home for just under 7 years before we earn the money back (ignoring time value of money) So I just wanted to see if 7+ years is normal to live in a first home.

average is 5, or 15-20 depending on the study – but I’ve been in mine 21 years and planning on staying =D

you have to stay @least as long as it’s upside down – I enjoyed this article…..
