I honestly don’t think much of it. I don’t know the extent they may have affected laws that helped create this mortgage crisis. People with great credit pay less interest, and people that have less than good credit probably shouldn’t get mortgages. A lot of people bought homes they couldn’t afford right up front knowing they had adjustable rates. They really should have taken the time to educate themselves. Does Dodd’s and Obama’s rates contribute to the problem? Likely not. And I almost never vote for democrats.
